How Sabri Ülker Foundation spent year of 2020?

Having worked towards the better future of public health since its establishment, Sabri Ülker Foundation, celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2020, has collaborated with institutions recognized as global exemplars in the fight against the pandemic, having conducted numerous multi-faceted studies.


 

Sabri Ülker Foundation has collaborated with institutions acknowledged worldwide as a global exemplar in response to the COVID-19 epidemic, having carried out multi-faceted scientific studies.

A meeting was held in Diyarbakır, with 5 new city representatives added to the Balanced Nutrition Education Project, which has seen annual expansion, having reached 20 cities this year. Balanced Nutrition Education Project website, which includes full details of the project, has been updated with current information.

Sabri Ülker Science Award was given to Assoc. Dr. Elçin Unal of the University of California, Berkeley, Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology.

In the 4th year of the Nutrition and Health Communication Program, the Foundation hosted the International Nutrition and Health Communication Conference held in the digital environment.

The “Parenting for Lifelong Health (PLH)’’ resources prepared by acclaimed organizations such as WHO, UNICEF and Oxford University, explaining the methods by which parents may best approach the epidemic period with the greatest accuracy through establishing correct communication with their children, has now been translated into Turkish.


“Healthy Living Guide Against Contagious and Epidemic Diseases”, also inspired by the epidemic period and containing key information for a healthy life, was also made available to readers on the Foundation’s website.

“Balanced Cuisine Nutrition”, and resulting from collaboration with food writer Sahrap Soysal, the book entitled “Delicious and Healthy Recipes of Anatolian Cuisine”, featuring healthy flavors chosen from 20 provinces where the Balanced Nutrition Education Project is ongoing, was made available to readers.

In 2020, EIT Food was added as a network partner to ongoing national and international business collaborations.

“The Nutrition and Health Communication Education Program and For Accurate Science Project of Sabri Ülker Foundation: Initiatives from Turkey” isimli makale, Karger Dergisi’nin “World Review of Nutrition and Dietetics” isimli sayısında yayınlandı.

The “Connecting consumers and producers in innovative agri-food supply chains” project was accepted to the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program.

Within the scope of national and international congresses and events, the 9th National Healthy Living E-Congress was attended, where the activities of the Sabri Ülker Foundation Healthy Living Center were presented.


 

We transformed the Healthy Living Center into the digital platform whereby employees under the Yıldız Holding umbrella can learn about healthy living and adequate-balanced nutrition and integrate that knowledge into their lives.


 

In a first for Turkey, we collaborated with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to initiate a project aimed at teaching food literacy to primary school children.

In our 2010-2020 Almanac, we have gathered all the works that we have meticulously carried out over the past 10 years to share with the private sector, the public and the media.


 

Our websites were visited by 638,267 visitors.

17,050,422 people were accessed through our social media accounts.

We have reached 32,244,571 people with 510 written and 3,160 online coverage.
