Balanced Nutrition,” Turkey’s most comprehensive and sustainable education project, was launched in 2011 in collaboration with the Ministry of Education with the goal of raising healthy generations.
The program educates children about balanced nutrition and lifestyle habits, and is reaching out to 1.5 million children, parents, and teachers at 500 schools in 10 provinces across Turkey.
Balanced Nutrition Education Project was expanded to include pre-schoolers and first-grade students from the beginning of the 2016–2017 academic year. Educational materials from the project were sent to all teachers in accordance with class levels, and these can also be downloaded for free from http://www.yemektedenge.org Grade-specific activity books, forming part of the material, were sent to all students.
The Sabri Ülker Food Research Foundation held the first Balanced Nutrition Education Project workshop.
