Physical activity also includes sports as dancing, exercising, games and other activities involving entire body movements.

“Exercise is defined as regular physical activity. It involves regular and repeated activities.”
There are three types of exercise:
1. Aerobic exercise: This exercise type strengthens the heart and lungs. It uses plenty of oxygen and expends energy which includes walking, biking, swimming and tennis.
2. Resistance, strengthening, and weight exercises: These activities activate the legs, arms, and muscle groups in the chest and abdomen area. For instance, brisk walking, carrying a child, dumbbell exercises. This type of exercises involve lifting, moving and carrying, and helps increase muscle mass in the body.
3. Balance and stretching exercises: These activities expend less energy but extend muscle length, reduce muscle tension, prevent injuries and increase the flexibility of those joints that handle extending, stretching and bending. Examples include yoga and light stretching.
